HTC desire a8181 fastboot adb and Windows 10

After updating to Windows 10, I am no longer able to fastboot flash recoveries with my HTC desire. Everytime, I attempt to connect my USB to the device from the PC, I am greeted by a USB malfunction error. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks so much
