Phone encrypted and can't add fingerprint

I'm new to the Nexus 6P, just came from the Note 5. I've been searching all the threads but haven't found any info yet. I just unlocked the boot loader, flashed twrp 3.0.2.0. Then I booted up so I could add a pin so I could decrypt data in twrp because I thought I had to. Then I flashed superuser 2.71 then tamasek cm13 slim gapps and elementalx kernel. Since then I always have to enter my pin every boot and when I try to add a finger print the "add fingerprint" button is like blacked out and I can't choose it. Can anyone help me? I've tried dirty unicorns and am on pure Nexus now and it's the same no matter what. I wiped every thing but the internal storage multiple times between flashes.
